Navezgane is mostly custom and handcrafted by devs. With all PoIs placed by hand, etc. Pregen is just normal random world that is included in the game so players do not need to spent ~10 minutes generating their own random map and can jump into the game right away. It's pregenerated for your convenience.

For all poor AMD users: I generated some 8K random maps in my NVIDIA GPU Laptop and uploaded them to google drive. Just download the RAR file and unzip it to "C:\Users\<Your windows login>\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds", then you can use those random maps in you game!

Yes. You can change the size but it can't be infinite and there's a limit to how big you can make the map. 1). Find the prefab - or prefabs folder that you want to add into the game. 2). Copy it into the (your drive letter)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Data\Prefabs folder. 3). Start KingGen.exe. 4). Click on "Advanced settings" - left side of the opening screen. 5).Map generation time hardly depends on your hardware. It uses CPU, RAM and afaik also the GPU (if present). Last RWG 8k map i played with a friend took almost 2 hours to generate on a server with some old phenom x6 and no graphics card present. Mostly some differences in terrain generation.Anyone know why the Random Gen Previewer we have now is simply just another way to create a new RNG map but to look at it too? There's no actual way to "preview maps," hence the name. You can only look at the maps you JUST created from that menu, and never again once you leave it. (It's always been this way as I remember.)
