How to wire plow solenoid
#1 · Nov 28, 2008 Hi guys, I just finished up installing a wiring for my '03 Chevy K1500 and I have a question a out the solenoid. There are 2 control wires (brown/red & black/orange). Does it matter what wire goes to which control pole? And does it matter what pole of the solenoid I put the battery cable and what pole I put the battery output on?Step 6. Connect the black/red wire to the keyed 12 V power supply and the white/black wire to the small terminal on the pump solenoid. Connect the brown wire to the solenoid, using a different terminal. When you jumped the solenoid did the plow move? Normally there is a white wire that triggers the motor solenoid but you may have a different harness. You can start with a test light to figure out which wire is which. Pressing left will activate only the motor solenoid. This is the wire that needs to go to the motor solenoid. Up should be red wire.

If you have a conventional or unimount (old) plow make sure that the controller purchased sends out (+) signals.
