On a 2002 Silverado 1500, all-of-a-sudden the key will not turn. The gear-shift lever seems to be stuck in Park, but the steering wheel does move. The key is removable. I've searched this, and other forums, and found some suggestions: 1. tap the key with a hammer; didn't help. 2. unhook the battery for several hours; didn't help.Typically, the shift lock button can be placed on the gear selection lever's top or side. Aug 3, 2020 · Having the same issues yesterday with my 2007 Toyota sienna xle with 107,000 miles was towing a small trailer and all of a sudden the three lights came on ABS,VSC,Trac off so I pulled over and I couldn't take the gear off park . so I had to take the little tab out of shift console and manually stick my finger in side inside the shift lock override so I can into drive and go back home .Shift lock release.
